OUR STAFF

  • Marshall Brown

    SENIOR PASTOR

Marshall moved with his wife, Allison, to the North Shore in the spring of 2014 to become the Senior Pastor at Grace Presbyterian. In 2015, Allison and Marshall became the proud parents of a son, Peter. Prior to moving to Chicagoland, Marshall served as a pastor in Los Angeles and, before that, as campus minister (RUF) at the University of Alabama. Before becoming a pastor, he worked in finance and education. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (BA in History) and Reformed Theological Seminary (MDiv). Having lived in eight states and in three different time zones, the thing he appreciates most about the North Shore is the genuine Midwest kindness.

  • Nick swan

    assistant pastor

Nick joined the pastoral staff at Grace Presbyterian in September of 2019. Nick was born in Decatur, IL, but was raised in Muncie, IN. He attended Ball State University and The Juilliard School where he received degrees in oboe performance. After completing his musical studies, Nick was a member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra for three years, after which he made a transition into pastoral ministry. While serving as a pastor, he graduated with an MA from Reformed Theological Seminary. Prior to joining the staff at Grace, Nick served for 12 years as a pastor at churches in Charlotte, NC and Elgin, IL. Nick and his wife, Rebecca, have three children: Kathryn, Daniel, and Caroline.

  • Allie brent

middle school coordinator and director of communications

Allie was raised just outside of Music City (Nashville) in Murfreesboro, TN, and came to us directly from the University of Tennessee where she received a B.S. in Child and Family Studies and a minor in psychology. She grew up in an enormous family, so naturally she loves people! Allie's favorite things to do include: hanging with friends, playing or watching sports (go Vols!), and being outside whether that is running, biking, or on the water.

  • Diana williams

Director of children's and youth ministry

Diana joined us in the Summer of 2019, bringing with her a wealth of experience in children's ministries. Originally from Miami, she studied theatre at Florida State University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and King's College, London. She also studied ministry at Cornhill Course and Oak Hill Theological College in London, where she spent over a decade working in children's and youth ministry. She previously taught theatre and this is where she discovered her calling to ministry as she came to see that the love of Jesus is the deepest need of every child. Diana, her husband Wayne, her mother-in-law Ann, and her daughter Grace all came to us from Miami.
