ABOUT THIS CONFERENCE

In 2019, Dr. John L. Cox led his Marriage Conference 1.0, Finders/Keepers, at Grace Presbyterian Church, teaching how to have a strong foundation for healthy relationships through emotional intimacy, freedom from blame, and effective conflict resolution.

This year, we have the great opportunity to welcome John back to Grace. In Getting Closer, Growing Stronger, we will be digging deeper into the kinds of issues he addresses most often in marriage therapy.

WHAT WE’LL COVER …

Understanding Emotional Baggage
How our own emotional baggage can make an otherwise warm marriage feel stressful or painful.

Responding to Hurt
How to respond lovingly and wisely when one of us acts in hurtful ways. What's the best way to handle unkindness in marriage—or any close relationship?

The Challenge of Forgiveness
Why is forgiveness so difficult? How do we repair an injury once we've caused it? And how do we recover when we're the ones who've been hurt?

Roll up your sleeves and join us as we work through some of the most common—but most transformative—areas in marriage.

REVIEW MARRIAGE CONFERENCE PART 1

Before attending the conference, Dr. John Cox encourages everyone to listen to and review the Marriage Conference 1.0: Finders/Keepers, as he’ll be building on those foundational ideas. Skipping it, he says, is “like trying acrobatic flying without first learning how to fly the plane.”

You can find the handout to his Marriage Conference 1.0 here.
