Call to Worship
From Psalm 138:4–6
LEADER: All the kings of the earth shall give you thanks, O Lord,
ALL: They shall sing of the ways of the Lord,
LEADER: Great is the glory of the Lord.
ALL: For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly.
God Calls Us
Welcome Song | Come, Thou Fount
1. Come, Thou fount of ev'ry blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise,
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above;
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of God's unchanging love.
2. Here I raise my Ebenezer*;
Hither by Thy help I'm come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wand'ring from the fold of God:
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
3. O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be;
Let that grace now, like a fetter,
Bind my wand'ring heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.
Here's my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.
Song of Praise | What a Friend We Have in Jesus
1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged.
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness.
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
3. Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge.
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield you,
You will find a solace there.

Confession of Sin & Silent Confession
From Psalm 130
God our Father, if you kept a record of wrong—O Lord, who could stand? We confess and lament that we have broken your laws, neglected your worship, and wounded our neighbors. But with you, Lord, there is forgiveness; in you there is steadfast love and plentiful redemption. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, forgive us and redeem us from all our iniquities, that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways. Amen.
He was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
Assurance of Pardon | From Isaiah 53:5
Song of Assurance | The Power of the Cross
1. Oh, to see the dawn
Of the darkest day:
Christ on the road to Calvary.
Tried by sinful men,
Torn and beaten, then
Nailed to a cross of wood.
2. Oh, to see the pain
Written on Your face
Bearing the awesome weight of sin;
Every bitter thought,
Every evil deed
Crowning Your bloodstained brow.
Refrain: This the pow'r of the Cross.
Christ became sin for us
Took the blame, bore the wrath
We stand forgiven at the cross.
3. Now the daylight flees,
Now the ground beneath
Quakes as its Maker bows His head.
Curtain torn in two,
Dead are raised to life;
‘Finished!’ the victory cry. (refrain)
4. Oh, to see my name
Written in the wounds,
For through Your suffering I am free.
Death is crushed to death,
Life is mine to live,
Won through Your selfless love.
This, the power of the cross:
Son of God, slain for us.
What a love! What a cost!
We stand forgiven at the cross.

Confession of Faith | Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ his only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Receiving the Supper is for adults and children who have publicly professed to follow Jesus and received Christian baptism.
For children and adults who have not publicly professed faith in Jesus, we welcome you to come forward to receive a blessing. Indicate you won’t be taking the Lord’s supper by crossing your arms or saying to the server, “I will not be participating today.”
Communion song is Beneath the Cross of Jesus by Keith and Kristyn Getty.
Celebration of The Lord’s Supper
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav'nly host:
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Amen.

Song of Sending I How Firm a Foundation
1. How firm a foundation, you saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
What more can He say than to you He has said
To You who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
2. Fear not, I am with you. Oh, be not dismayed,
For I am your God. I will still give you aid;
I'll strengthen you, help you and cause you to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.
3. When through the deep waters I call you to go,
The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow,
For I will be with you in trouble to bless,
And sanctify to you your deepest distress.
4. The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to its foes.
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I'll never, no never, no never forsake.
Benediction
