Welcome to
Grace Presbyterian Church!

Grace Presbyterian Church exists to welcome our neighbors, grow together in Christ, and serve God in our community and world. We believe that the grace of God through Jesus Christ changes everything.

God Calls Us

O Worship the King (Grant)

O worship the King, all glorious above,
And gratefully sing His power and His love;
our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

O tell of His might, O sing of His grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space,
whose chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is His path on the wings of the storm.

Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
it streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
and sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
in thee do we trust, nor find thee to fail;
thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,
our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.
Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.

Call to Worship

Zechariah 9:9

Leader: Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!

All: Behold, our king is coming; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey

Invocation

Song of Praise | This is My Father’s World (Babcock/Sheppard)

This is my Father's world,
And to my listening ears,

All nature sings, and round me rings;

The music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world,

I rest me in the thought,
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;

His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world,

The birds their carols raise,

The morning light, the lily white;

Declare their Maker's praise.

This is my Father's world,

He shines in all that's fair,

In the rustling grass I hear him pass;

He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world,
O let me ne'er forget,
That though the wrong seems oft so strong;
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father's world,
Why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King, let the heavens ring;
God reigns! Let the earth be glad!

God
Cleanses Us

Confession of Sin I Psalm 139

All-knowing God and Father, you have searched us, and you know us. You see every deed, hear every word, and discern every thought. You know our hidden faults, and you see our secret sins: our pride, lust, envy, bitterness, ingratitude, and unbelief. In your great mercy, O Lord, cover our transgressions in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Forgive the sin within us, and renew us by your Spirit, that we may walk in the ways of everlasting life. Amen.

Silent Confession

Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.

Assurance of Pardon | Isaiah 43:1

Song of Assurance I Jesus Paid It All (Grape)

I hear the Savior say,
“Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.”

Refrain
Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots
And melt the heart of stone.

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
“Jesus died my soul to save,”
My lips shall still repeat.
Refrain x2

Sermon

Lift Up Your Heads, Oh Gates

Scripture Reading: Psalm 24

Song of Response | All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name (Holden/Perronet)

All hail the power of Jesus’ Name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all,
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all.

Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
Ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all,
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all.

Let ev’ry kindred, ev’ry tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all,
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all.

O that with yonder sacred throng,
We at His feet may fall,
We’ll join the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all.
We'll join the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all.

Communes with Us

Confession of Faith | The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; I believe in Jesus Christ his only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

During this time, we invite EVERYONE to come forward or to go back if you are in the balcony.

The Supper is for followers of Jesus who trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and have publicly professed to follow Jesus and received Christian baptism.

If you are not a follower of Jesus, we welcome you to come forward to receive a blessing. You can indicate you won’t be taking the Lord’s supper by crossing your arms or saying to the server, “I will not be taking today.”

For those remaining in their seats who would like to be served, please let your usher know when folks begin to move forward, and they will bring the elements of the supper to you. Once you come forward, the cups with red are wine, and the cups with white are juice. All the bread is gluten-free.

Celebration of The Lord’s Supper

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heav'nly host:
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Amen.

Song of Sending I For All the Saints (How/Miner)

For all the saints, who from this labor's rest,
To thee by faith before the world confess,
Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blessed.
Alleluia, Allelu!

Thou wast their rock, their fortress and their might;
Thou, Lord, their captain in the well fought fight;
Thou, in the darkness drear, their one true Light.
Alleluia, Allelu!

O may thy soldiers, faithful, true and bold,
Fight as the saints who nobly fought of old,
And win with them the victor's crown of gold.
Alleluia, Allelu!

The golden evening brightens in the west;
Soon, soon to faithful warriors comes their rest;
Sweet is the calm of paradise the blessed.
Alleluia, Allelu!

From earth's wide bounds, from ocean's farthest coast,
Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,
Singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
Alleluia, Alleluia.

Benediction
